2021 CTWC Iberia Regional was held online. The winner won free entry into the 2021 Classic Tetris World Championship.
Qualifying Round happened from July 1 through July 31. Round 0, Group Stage, and Knockout Stage all happened on August 7, 2021.
In the Qualifying Round, players were given a 1-hour session. Qualifying Rankings were determined by number of maxouts, with the highest non-maxout score (kicker) used as a tiebreaker.
Organizers for this regional were deciding upon 3 options in how the tournament format was going to work.
Option 1: 12-player Single-Elimination Bracket, where Seeds 5-12 start in Round 0
Option 2: A Round 0 between Seeds 5-12 and a Top 8 Group Stage featuring 2 groups of 4 players. The Top 2 players in each group would advance to the Knockout Rounds.
Option 3: Top 12 Group Stage featuring 3 groups of 4 players. The Top 2 finishers in each group along with the 2 best third-place finishers would advance to the Top 8 Knockout Rounds.
Majority of players voted for Option 2. So that is what the tournament organizers went with that option.
The Top 12 players registered for the tournament. One of the players dropped out by not participating in the qualifying round. Later on, another player dropped out after the qualifying rounds.
Only 10 players participated in the tournament.

Top 8 players were split into 2 groups of 4 players. The Top 2 in each group advanced to the Knockout Rounds.
In each group, players played one match each against every other player in that group.
In each match, players earned match points which would determine their ranking within the group.
Match Point System
3-0 — 4 points to the winner, 0 points to the loser
3-1 — 4 points to the winner, 1 point to the loser
3-2 — 4 points to the winner, 2 points to the loser
