The 2021 CTWC Latin America (LATAM) Regional took place online. Only players that resided in Latin America at the time were allowed to participate in this tournament.
Qualifying happened from June 11 – July 11.
Group Stages happened from July 24 – August 15.
Top 16 Knockout Rounds happened on August 21.
The Top 8 players won paid entry into the 2021 World Championship which was held online.
In the qualifying round, players had 1 hour of unlimited attempt. Their highest score was used to determine their seeding rank. All players would advance to the next round.
If the number of players that participated is a multiple of 4, all players would advance to the Group Stage. If not, there would be play-in matches to determine which of the lower seeded players make it to the Group Stage.
The number of players that qualified determined the number of groups.
All matches were Best of 5.
Group Stage Format
The players that would be participating in the Group Stage were divided into 4 pools. A draw would be done to determine the groups. Each group would have 4 players.
Players in each group played against one another in a Round-Robin format. Each player played 3 matches total (1 match each).
Since there were 8 groups, the Top 2 in each group advanced to the Knockout Rounds.
In each match, players earned match points which would determine their ranking within the group.
Match Point System
3-0 — 4 points to the winner, 0 points to the loser
3-1 — 4 points to the winner, 1 point to the loser
3-2 — 4 points to the winner, 2 points to the loser
Group Stage Tie-Breaker protocols were used in case players were tied in match points.
After the Group Stage, 16 players advanced to the knockout rounds. The number of Groups determined who advances from each group. At minimum, all Group winners advanced. Depending on the remaining spots, the Best 2nd/3rd place finishers also advanced.
Since there were 8 groups, the Top 2 in each group advanced to the Knockout Rounds.

Knockout Rounds
All matches were Best of 5.
Top 16 Seeding Rank can be viewed here.
The players were reseeded based on their Group Stage performance.
They were divided and ordered in “pots”, one for the Group Stage 1st place finishers, another for the 2nd places and eventually, in the case of dropouts after the group stage, a third pot for the 3rd places.
If a player have to dropout after the group stage, the next best placed player from their group will advance, the TOP 16 bracket will be re-seeded to account for the new seeding positions;
In the case of ties, similar tie-breakers to the Group Stage apply (with the exception of head-to-head as most players would not have played each other yet).
