2017 Dr. Mario Championship: Timestamps

In 2017, the first Dr. Mario Championship (DrMC) took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The tournament was called Replay Rx at the time, which was a pun for the name of the expo it was held at, Replay FX.

The Classic Tetris World Championship (CTWC) organizer, Vince Clemente, wanted to create a Dr. Mario tournament. So he brought in Chris Bidwell to organize the tournament.

The rules of the 2017 DrMC can be found here. Basically, the qualifying process involved players being placed in a Pool. In each pool, the players played against each other in a Round Robin format.

At the end of the qualifying session, 32 players made it to the Playoffs.

The Top 8 rounds have been recorded, with post commentary provided by tournament director Chris Bidwell, 2019 DrMC World Champion Heather Ito, and 7-time Classic Tetris World Champion Jonas Neubauer.
