The 2023 Dr. Mario Championship (DrMC) was the 7th Annual tournament, which took place at the TORG Gaming Expo in Columbus, Ohio.
It expanded from a 1-day event to a 2-day event. The entire Saturday was the qualifying round, while Sunday was the Playoffs.
The tournament expanded from a 32-player bracket to a 48-player bracket. Seeds 1-16 had a bye to Round 1, while Seeds 17-48 competed in Round 0 to advance to Round 1.
New to the tournament was the Immunity Pool. Which featured the Top 2 finishers from the 2022 DrMC and each of the 2023 DrMC Regional tournaments. So there were a total of 8 players that were in this pool.
This pool was a Round Robin format. Players with a winning record (above 50% win rate) advanced to the Playoffs with the Highest seeding ranks. The rest of the players may re-qualify by entering the normal pools.
The rest of the qualifying round was the same as the previous year. Players lined up to join an 8-player pool and were able to join as many pools as possible.
The Top 48 players qualified for the Playoffs, which was Best of 5, Single-Elimination.

Rounds 0-2 were split into 8 groups of 6-player brackets. The winners of each bracket advanced to the Top 8. The colored brackets are split into 2 parts, each part contains a 6-player bracket.
